In 2026, Combient Pure is joining forces with AFRY, a leading engineering, project management, and advisory services company that enables the energy and industrial transition, to bring the Combient network the second edition of the popular Scope 3 Decarbonization Accelerator. AFRY’s experts will enrich the program with their deep expertise in decarbonization, circularity, electrification, and digitalization.
What is the Scope 3 Decarbonization Accelerator?
The Accelerator brings together Combient companies for action-oriented events, featuring exchanges between experts and peers on how to take Scope 3 decarbonization to the next level.
This year’s Accelerator aims to break down siloes, cut out the jargon, and get different functions and companies across sectors talking about meaningful action to decarbonize value chain emissions in specific emission categories.
What themes will the Accelerator focus on this year?
This year, we dive deeper into specific, shared Scope 3 challenges in the Combient network companies. We kick off with a two-day Summit focusing on strategies for reducing emissions associated with energy use, both upstream with suppliers and downstream with customers. These energy-related emissions represent a significant portion of the total carbon footprint for many manufacturing companies, requiring deep collaboration to scale energy efficiency and the transition to low carbon, renewable energy.
In the fall, we first turn our attention to low carbon materials, another critical and complex source of emissions for large, global manufacturing companies. The final workshop’s theme will be determined based on the results of Combient Pure’s annual State of Value Chain Decarbonization survey and the wishes of the Combient network.
Who is this for?
Meaningful decarbonization work that also ties into business objectives requires collaboration with value chain partners, but also between company functions.
The Accelerator aims to bring together e.g. sustainability, supply chain, procurement, sales, business development, finance, R&D, product and strategy functions around questions of decarbonizing the company value chain. As such, the Accelerator events are an arena for participants to discuss not just with peers from Combient companies, but also colleagues to accelerate decarbonization.
