Combient Pure today announced the return of its successful Scope 3 Decarbonization Accelerator for its second edition in 2026. The program, designed to drive meaningful action and build capabilities in reducing value chain emissions in companies in the Combient network, will feature a new strategic partnership with AFRY, a leading global engineering, project management, and advisory services company that enable the energy and industrial transition.
Combient Pure and AFRY’s 2026 Accelerator will build on the success of the inaugural program run by Combient Pure, which was built on shared Scope 3 challenges in large Nordic manufacturing companies. The Accelerator will provide action-oriented events where Combient companies, representing leading Nordic brands, can exchange insights and ideate ways forward together with experts and peers to elevate their Scope 3 decarbonization efforts. AFRY's deep expertise in decarbonisation, circularity, electrification, and digitalisation will significantly enrich the program’s content and practical relevance.
“We are excited to partner with AFRY and integrate their hands-on experience across multiple companies and sectors into the Scope 3 Decarbonization Accelerator program,” says Marika Määttä, VP at Combient and Head of Combient Pure. “AFRY’s work at the forefront of the energy and industrial transition allows them to bring fresh, practical insights that are directly relevant for Combient companies tackling complex Scope 3 challenges today.”
The joint goal of the second iteration is to cut through jargon, break down organizational silos, and foster meaningful, cross-sector collaboration on specific, challenging emission categories.
Focus on energy and low carbon materials, where collaboration can unlock new insights
The Accelerator will kick off with a two-day summit in Stockholm in April 2026, focusing on strategies for reducing emissions associated with energy use, both upstream with suppliers and downstream with customers. These energy-related emissions represent a significant portion of the total carbon footprint for many manufacturing companies, requiring deep collaboration to scale energy efficiency and the transition to renewable energy.
In spring 2026, Combient Pure will also conduct its annual State of Value Chain Decarbonization survey to benchmark progress across the network. The survey's findings will help shape the themes for the fall 2026 Accelerator workshops, which will first turn their attention to low-carbon materials, another critical and complex source of emissions for large, global manufacturing companies.
“We see this collaboration with Combient Pure as an opportunity to strengthen Nordic leadership in the climate transition,” tells Tiina Kähö, Head of Sustainability Consulting, AFRY Management Consulting. “Addressing Scope 3 emissions is critical to real climate impact, and by bringing companies together across functions and industries, we can turn leading-edge knowledge into scalable solutions that improve resilience, competitiveness and long-term performance.”
The Accelerator remains focused on sharing expert advice and highlighting best practices from across the Combient network. It also serves as an active invitation for Combient companies to not just learn, but actively collaborate and shape what leading Scope 3 action should look like.
